About the Role

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be joining a client-facing, multi-disciplinary team delivering sustainable engineering and building-services solutions. Your primary focus will be on sustainability assessments (including BREEAM), environmental performance, utility strategy, and advising clients on achieving sustainable, energy-efficient buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sustainability assessments across projects: BREEAM (New Construction, Refurbishment/Fit-out, In-Use), plus other sustainability credentials as required.

  • Prepare Sustainability Statements, Part L and EPC reports, TM54 Operational Energy Use analysis, TM59 overheating assessments, embodied carbon / whole-life-cycle (WLC) calculations and Net Zero pathway advice.

  • Provide guidance on low-carbon strategies, renewable integration, energy efficiency, and utility masterplanning.

  • Deliver BREEAM advisory support to clients and contractors — including design, construction and in-use phases, coordinating evidence, compliance checks, and certification documentation.

  • Contribute to feasibility studies, sustainability strategy, reporting, lifecycle assessments, and sustainability-led design coordination.

Ideal Experience / Skills:

  • Experience in sustainability consultancy within the built environment, including BREEAM assessments, EPC/Part L compliance, energy modelling, and embodied carbon / WLC assessments.

  • Strong understanding of BREEAM methodology, scoring criteria and certification processes, with the ability to coordinate and advise throughout project stages.

  • Knowledge of energy-performance standards and regulations (e.g. Part L), TM54, TM59, energy/carbon modelling and net-zero / low-carbon building strategies.

  • Excellent report-writing, analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and present it clearly to clients and stakeholders.

  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills, capable of liaising across disciplines and with non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise workload and work effectively in a hybrid environment.

If you think this could be of interest to you — or someone you know — please reach out for a conversation. I’d be happy to help.
