About the Role
Opportunity
Our client is looking for an Intermediate Fire Protection Engineer to join its growing team supporting projects across London and the South East. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of building and infrastructure projects, contributing to the design and delivery of fire protection systems within multidisciplinary project teams.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will support the design, coordination, and delivery of fire protection systems across a variety of sectors. Working alongside senior engineers and project teams, you will contribute to technically compliant and efficient fire protection designs in line with UK standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and specification of fire protection systems, including sprinklers, fire suppression, and associated infrastructure
- Produce engineering calculations, drawings, and technical documentation
- Support coordination with multidisciplinary design teams including mechanical, electrical, and architectural disciplines
- Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards and regulations
- Attend project meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Contribute to site visits, surveys, and inspections where required
- Assist with reviewing contractor designs and technical submissions
Requirements
- Previous experience working in Fire Protection Engineering within the UK
- Experience with sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, or related fire protection infrastructure
- Understanding of relevant UK fire protection standards and regulations
- Experience working within building services or multidisciplinary engineering environments
- Ability to produce technical drawings and engineering documentation
- Strong communication and coordination skills
Desirable
- Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Fire Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working on commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments
- Progress towards professional accreditation or membership of a relevant engineering institution
