Key Responsibilities

Site Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of construction sites to assess soil and rock properties, groundwater conditions, and other geotechnical factors.

Design and Analysis: Design foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards.

Testing and Reporting: Perform field and laboratory tests on soil and rock samples, and prepare detailed reports and drawings based on findings.

Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering disciplines to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs.

Risk Assessment: Evaluate risks related to slopes, foundations, and other geotechnical issues, providing recommendations to mitigate potential hazards.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is typically required. A Master’s degree may be preferred for advanced positions.

Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and geotechnical software tools.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and develop practical solutions to engineering challenges.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with team members and clients.
