About the Role
About the Role:
You will be part of a small, director-led consultancy team providing building-services design and sustainability solutions. Working across multiple projects — from feasibility and pre-planning to detailed MEP design and site review — you will collaborate directly with clients, design teams, and stakeholders to deliver practical, efficient mechanical services solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake mechanical building-services design (MEP) including layout, plant selection, HVAC, plumbing, and associated systems.
- Support feasibility studies, pre-acquisition and pre-planning reports; help advise clients on mechanical design options.
- Perform detailed mechanical design for new-build, refurbishment, or fit-out projects.
- Participate in on-site reviews and monitoring, liaising with contractors and other disciplines to ensure design compliance and quality.
- Provide input to utility-masterplanning where mechanical services interface with utilities, renewables or resilience strategies.
- Collaborate with project team to deliver to time and budget, ensuring commercial awareness and effective communication with clients.
- Work in a hybrid model (office + site/client visits) and liaise closely with senior staff and directors throughout.
Ideal Experience / Skills:
Experience in mechanical building-services design or MEP consultancy. Good understanding of mechanical services (HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, plant rooms, etc.) in commercial/residential/institutional developments. Ability to interpret architectural drawings, coordinate with other disciplines (electrical, structural, sustainability). Good communication and client-facing skills — comfortable presenting mechanical options and discussing design decisions with clients. Good project management, organisational and commercial awareness. Flexible working / hybrid approach; willingness to carry out site visits and on-site monitoring.
