About the Role
We are working with a leading building services consultancy in Manchester that is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative multidisciplinary consultancy delivering innovative electrical engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the North West and UK. You will work on technically challenging developments across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial.
The Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical building services designs across all project stages, working closely with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines to deliver efficient, sustainable and compliant solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical building services systems including LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and associated systems.
- Produce calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
- Develop designs from concept through to completion.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors.
- Attend design and site meetings to support project delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with UK standards, regulations and best practice.
- Support sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years’ experience within a UK building services consultancy environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services design.
- Experience delivering projects across multiple RIBA stages.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Revit/BIM environments.
- Good understanding of BS 7671, Building Regulations and relevant industry standards.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach.
