About the Role

CAD Manager – MEP Building Services

Location: Croydon

We are seeking a skilled, proactive CAD Manager to take a leading role in the production, coordination, and quality control of MEP design information across a diverse portfolio of projects. These range from small refurbishments to large-scale residential, education, and commercial developments.

Based in our Croydon office, you will play a central role in ensuring that all drawings, models, and technical information are delivered to the highest standards. Working closely with our engineers in the UK and our CAD team in Manila, you will help drive accurate, coordinated, and timely project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CAD professional who takes pride in technical excellence, enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and wants to see high-quality designs translated into successful built projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate, fully coordinated 2D MEP drawings through to construction level.

  • Translate engineers’ mark-ups, sketches, and briefs into clear, high-quality CAD outputs.

  • Manage MEP drawings, models, worksets, and sheets in line with project and company standards.

  • Ensure effective coordination between MEP, architectural, and structural disciplines.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Liaise daily with engineers to understand project requirements, priorities, and deadlines.

  • Coordinate daily with the Manila office, allocating CAD requests at the end of each day and carrying out technical reviews of incoming work each morning to ensure consistency and quality.

  • Undertake hands-on CAD production within the Croydon office throughout the day.

  • Mentor CAD technicians and provide technical guidance and support.

  • Assist engineers at design team and client meetings, contributing to coordination and technical discussions.

Quality, Standards & Processes

  • Follow, maintain, and help develop QA and BIM processes in line with company standards.

  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards, and industry best practice (CIBSE, BSRIA, UK BIM Framework, ISO 19650).

  • Manage drawing and model information in accordance with company document control and digital engineering procedures.

  • Maintain document control, including managing published outboxes and document issue sheets for each project.

Skills & Experience

  • 5–10 years’ experience producing MEP drawings using AutoCAD.

  • Strong understanding of building services systems, coordination, and construction processes.

  • Experience working within a small to medium-sized consulting engineering practice.

  • Proven ability to manage drawing production across multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Confident setting up and managing 2D layouts, schematics, and MEP models.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery constraints.

  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and British Standards.

  • A collaborative and professional approach, with the ability to work across teams and disciplines.
