About the Role
About the Role:
We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic engineering consultancy in Milton Keynes, focused on delivering sustainable, low-carbon electrical design solutions across a variety of sectors including residential, education, commercial, and public infrastructure. You will play a key role in leading electrical design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security, and renewable energy systems.
Develop sustainable, low-energy solutions aligned with client goals and industry standards. Produce detailed design documentation, specifications, calculations, and reports.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, architects, clients, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments. Conduct site visits for inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting as needed.
Stay current with emerging technologies, regulations, and best practices in electrical engineering.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Chartered or working towards Chartered status preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in building services electrical design within consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, including lighting, power distribution, fire & security, and renewable technologies.
- Experience with BIM software (Revit preferred) and electrical design tools.
- Familiarity with UK electrical regulations, building codes, and sustainability standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to manage client relationships.
- Commercial awareness and ability to balance technical performance with project constraints.
