About the Role
About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join a building services consultancy team based in Bristol. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and education.
As part of a collaborative and supportive design team, you will play an active role in developing innovative, sustainable electrical engineering solutions. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle—from concept to completion—with opportunities to grow technically and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and specification of electrical building services systems including power, lighting, fire alarms, security, and data systems.
- Produce design calculations using software tools such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and AutoCAD/Revit.
- Support senior engineers with technical reports, drawings, and schedules.
- Participate in site visits and client meetings.
- Work collaboratively with other disciplines including mechanical engineers, architects, and contractors.
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations and standards.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies and sustainability best practices
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline Knowledge of relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enthusiastic, proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow
- Understanding of UK building regulations and design standards (e.g., BS7671, CIBSE guidelines)
Desirable:
- Experience working in a consultancy environment
- Working toward or holding membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IET)
