Role Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in Building Services Engineering as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. You will join a highly experienced and successful team within our Manchester, Leeds, or Birmingham office, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of projects.
Working closely with senior engineers, you will contribute to the scheming, design, coordination, drawing, and checking of mechanical services designs. You will be expected to prepare accurate designs, identify risks and opportunities, and communicate effectively with the project team and clients. You will also support Senior Engineers by providing regular updates on programme, progress, and delivery.
Role & Responsibilities

Prepare design calculations and drawings for the full range of mechanical building services under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.

Support Senior Engineers in delivering projects from initial concept through to completion.

Assist with coordinating designs, identifying risks, options, and opportunities, and contributing to technical solutions.

Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and other construction professionals.

Manage individual tasks within agreed timeframes and delivery dates, discussing any required deadline extensions with your line manager.

Attend client, design team, and project meetings as required.

Support senior staff on site investigations, inspections, issue identification, and problem-solving.

Provide regular updates to Senior Engineers on programme and delivery progress.

Follow instructions while being confident to ask questions where clarification is required.

Demonstrate initiative and manage time effectively.
Training & Professional Development

Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with CIBSE and/or IMechE requirements.

Work towards Chartered Engineer status, supported by a mentor and experienced colleagues.

Gain exposure to high-quality, sustainable projects that support long-term professional growth.
Qualifications & Membership

HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.

Graduate Member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent), or working towards membership.
