About the Role
My client is a design consultancy based in Glasgow, specialising in building services engineering for commercial, residential, public sector, and specialist projects. They are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team and contribute to a variety of exciting projects, some of which require UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical design for projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and energy systems.

Prepare detailed calculations, specifications, and design documentation.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated building services solutions.

Mentor junior engineers and review design work to ensure high-quality outputs.

Contribute to sustainable and energy-efficient design strategies.
Requirements:

Proven experience in mechanical building services design, preferably in a consultancy environment.

Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, standards, and codes of practice.

Proficiency with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar).

Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Chartered status (CEng or MICE/MCIBSE) is desirable.

Eligible for UK MoD security clearance (SC/DV) — essential for this role.
