About the Role
The Opportunity
An ambitious and growing building services and sustainability consultancy is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to play a lead role in the next phase of its growth. The business is looking to signifcantly expend of the next 12 months and looking for someone enterprising to join thea team.
This is a senior, client-orientated role suited to someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is motivated by helping to shape and scale an established and growing consultancy.
About the Business
The company operates as a mechanical, electrical and sustainability design consultancy, delivering building services engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of sectors, including:
- Residential and mixed-use developments
- Student accommodation Co-living and
- Build-to-Rent Heritage and conservation projects and logistics
- Healthcare and hospital facilities
They work closely with developers, architects, contractors, funders and end clients to deliver technically robust, sustainable, and commercially sound building services solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a senior leader and ambassador for the consultancy, representing the business with key clients and partners
- Drive business development and secure new instructions across MEP and sustainability services
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships, particularly with developers, investors, and project teams
- Lead and support bids, proposals, and fee negotiations
- Provide strategic input into the growth, structure and direction of the consultancy
- Work closely with the Director to develop market positioning and expansion plans
- Support and mentor the existing team, contributing to capability development as the business grows
- Maintain commercial oversight of key commissions, ensuring quality, profitability and client satisfaction
- Remain hands-on with client engagement while operating at a senior strategic level
Candidate Profile
- Senior-level experience within a building services, MEP, engineering or sustainability consultancy
- Strong track record of client-facing leadership and business development
- Commercially astute with experience winning and managing consultancy work
- Ambitious, proactive and comfortable working in a growing, evolving business
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at senior client level
